AEW Golden Ticket battle royale winner to get World title shot in October

New AEW World Champion Jon Moxley’s assumed first title defense will come in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.

During an off-camera moment at AEW Grand Slam Wednesday, Tony Khan told the crowd that the winner of the Golden Ticket battle royale that was taped for Friday’s Rampage will get their opportunity on a special live Tuesday edition of Dynamite set for October 18th.

That week’s show is being moved to Tuesday due to TBS airing the Major League Baseball playoffs, meaning it will go head-to-head with that week’s WWE NXT.

Moxley regained the title Wednesday with his win over Bryan Danielson in the finals of the Tournament of Champions to crown a new titleholder.

The winner of the battle royale (spoilers here) will get the opportunity ahead of MJF, who also holds a title shot due to his Casino ladder match win at All Out. It’s believed he will cash in that chip at November’s Full Gear in Newark, New Jersey.
