Even in retirement, Canadian pop-punk band Sum 41 will live on through AEW.

The band’s song “You Wanted War” from their final album Heaven x Hell opened Wednesday’s Dynamite as its new theme song. The group called it quits this past March after a final tour and induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

It is the second new theme song AEW has used for its flagship show in 2025 as The Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited” kicked off the first Dynamite of the calendar year. The 1980s song only lasted a few episodes before quietly being shuttered without explanation.

That wasn’t the only production note as an animated red and black spider appeared on screen several times during the four-way title eliminator match featuring AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm, as seen below.

Speculation is that it’s a tease for the arrival of former Stardom wrestler Thekla whose nickname is “The Toxic Spider.”

The 32-year-old ended her multi-year run with Stardom last week with reports emerging that she was heading to the United States and signing with AEW.
