AEW notes: Double or Nothing weekend, Tag title match next week

AEW president and head booker Tony Khan appeared on Wednesday's Busted Open Radio to help promote Wednesday's Blood & Guts match in addition to some news for the immediate future.

Khan said they are allotting nearly the entire second hour of tonight's show to the Blood & Guts match. They will have their biggest crowd since the pandemic at more than 1500 fans which is close to 40% capacity for Jacksonville's Daily's Place.

He said they expect to be at full capacity for the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Saturday, May 30th. Additionally, Double or Nothing weekend will feature a live Dynamite on Friday and a Saturday fan festival.

In running down the card for tonight's show, he said the winner of the four-way match between SCU, Jurassic Express, The Acclaimed and the Varsity Blonds will get their shot at Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks on next week's Dynamite. Given the stipulation that they will split their team up the next time they lose, SCU are favored tonight.

Khan said he's heard The Acclaimed's rap and that it's one of Max Caster's best.

The full card is as follows:

  • Blood & Guts: The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle
  • AEW World Champion Kenny Omega & MT Nakazawa vs. Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston
  • Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall
  • Tag Team title shot eliminator: SCU vs. Jurassic Express vs. Varsity Blonds vs. The Acclaimed
  • Britt Baker in action
  • Miro, Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page appearances
