AEW’s Samoa Joe nabs Sweet Tooth role in Peacock’s ‘Twisted Metal’

Ring of Honor TV Champion and AEW roster member Samoa Joe will play the dual role of Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s upcoming show, Twisted Metal.

Deadline first reported the news Thursday.

Will Arnett will voice the character who “is described as a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses “Lost Vegas” as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck.”

There is no date for when production is set to start, nor when the series is expected to launch.

After losing in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament final last Sunday at Double or Nothing, Joe was jumped and his arm/shoulder re-injured by Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh in a backstage segment seen on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Joe (Joe Seanoa) joins a star-studded cast that includes Arnett, Anthony Mackie (Marvel’s Falcon), Neve Campbell (Scream movies), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman in Spider-Man movies, Wings, Sideways), Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto) and more.

The series is a 30-minute action comedy about John Doe, played by Mackie, who “is offered a chance at a better life — but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.” Joe’s character is one of several trying to prevent that from happening.

The series is based on Sony Playstation video games of the same name.
