AEW to hold dual Dynamite/Collision taping during WrestleMania week

The Saturday, April 6th edition of AEW Collision will not be a live show against the first night of WWE WrestleMania 40.

During Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, it was announced that both a live Dynamite and taped Collision will take place from the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachussetts, on Wednesday, April 3rd.

It’s unknown if the April 6th Collision on TNT will run head-to-head against WrestleMania or if it will be pre-empted.

Tony Khan’s Ring of Honor will hold Supercard of Honor on Friday, April 5th in Philadelphia that may have also contributed to the decision to not hold three live events in four days.

That Saturday will be a busy one in wrestling as WWE NXT will hold their Stand & Deliver show at 11:30 AM Eastern with that night’s WrestleMania card kicking off at 8 PM Eastern. Those shows are in addition to the various indie shows taking place throughout the Philadelphia area that day.

The April date is not the only time over the next month-plus that Collision will not air live:

  • This Wednesday, AEW will hold a joint Dynamite/Collision show in Huntsville, Alabama, with the Revolution pay-per-view taking place next Sunday.
  • AEW will tape Collision on Thursday, March 7th in Duluth, Georgia, that will air on Saturday, March 9th.
