AEW’s Hikaru Shida has been announced for Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s Grand Princess ’22 event.

After a loss to Serena Deeb that wrote her out of AEW storylines in January, Shida has returned to Japan for an indefinite length of time to take part in the MAKAI Genesis stage, theater and dance production. Shida performs as Princess Tsuru in the MAKAI show.

Shida is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, holding the title for over a year. She defeated Nyla Rose for the Championship at Double or Nothing 2020, then dropped the title to Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. at Double or Nothing 2021.

Shida also took part in the inaugural TBS Championship tournament in 2021. She defeated Deeb in the tournament’s first round, then lost to Rose in the quarterfinals.
