Athena vs. Maya World booked for next AEW Collision
The finals for the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament will be decided next weekend.
It was announced on Saturday that Athena will meet Maya World in the semifinals on next week’s episode of AEW Collision in Sugar Land, Texas. This comes after both Athena and World exchanged words and more on this week’s show.
Athena & Maya World go face-to-face
World cut a promo on Collision after scoring the surprise win over Skye Blue last Wednesday to advance in the tournament, just days after her brother suddenly passed away in a car accident. World said that Athena taught her everything, but she was going to take everything Athena taught her and take it to the finals. Athena responded by saying while she felt bad about World’s brother, what about her? She said that just because she’s the It Girl, it doesn’t mean she wasn’t living in Athena’s world.
After Athena defeated Tiara James in a quick match, she continued attacking James until World came out for the save. World went to check on James only for Athena to re-enter the ring and assault World, driving her face-first into the ROH Women’s Championship.
