Champion issues tag team challenge for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

AEW Forbidden Door 2026

A challenge has been thrown out by a NJPW wrestler.

HENARE, who recently won the IWGP Tag Team titles with Great-O-Khan, issued the challenge on social media Sunday.

“O-Khan and I are ready for anyone who wants to step up,” he wrote.

One team immediately stepped up to the challenge: Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona of GOA. Although Henare later wrote that no team seemed to be interested in his challenge, he reposted both of the GOA’s responses.

Ricochet joined in on the challenge soon after.

“He afraid of @BishopKaun and @ToaLiona,” he wrote.

No match has been made official for Forbidden Door, which takes place next Sunday in San Jose.

New champions crowned at Dominion

HENARE and Great-O-Khan defeated the Knock Out Brothers (YUTO-ICE and Oskar) at Dominion earlier this month to win the IWGP Tag Team titles. As a result, both men were entered into this year’s G1 Climax tournament which begins next month in Chicago.

Ricochet has shifted his focus, meanwhile, on Konosuke Takeshita. He will challenge the new International Champion this coming Wednesday on Dynamite.
