AEW’s Chris Jericho suffers broken nose in barbed wire death match

Chris Jericho suffered a broken nose during his barbed wire death match against Eddie Kingston at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

AEW revealed the news on Twitter Thursday night:

The injury happened during a Codebreaker spot with a barbed wire wrapped chair that accidentally hit Jericho in the face. He immediately checked his nose, which was bleeding, and continued working the match per normal.

Jericho defeated his rival in the end, using an assist from Sammy Guevara, to hit a Judas Effect on Kingston to get the win. Afterward, Kingston gained a measure of revenge by throwing Jericho in a barbed wire pit on the outside of the ring.

It’s unknown how long Jericho and Kingston will be out of action or off TV selling the injuries from the match.

It was the latest escalation in the feud between the two men that dates back to this year’s Revolution. Wednesday was only their second singles bout.
