CM Punk: ‘I have a lot of things to get off my chest’ at AEW Collision debut

For the first time since prior to last September’s AEW All Out, CM Punk returned to AEW Dynamite Wednesday — in video form, anyway.

To help promote his return to the company and to in-ring action as part of this Saturday’s AEW Collision debut, a one-minute vignette aired where Punk said, “The only thing that is certain about CM Punk right now is that nothing is certain.”

He also intimated that he will be speaking in front of his hometown crowd of Chicago at the United Center in addition to wrestling. He and AEW Tag Team Champions FTR will face Jay White, Samoa Joe and Juice Robinson in the night’s main event.

Punk was shown in his hometown of Chicago working out. He said the reason he is coming back to AEW right now is the same reason he came back to begin with: he has scores to settle and things left to do.

He said he didn’t know what he was going to do or say until he had the microphone in his hand, but he has “a lot of things to get off my chest.”

In an interview released Wednesday, AEW head Tony Khan was asked if Punk was going to speak on Saturday. While he said he didn’t want to give anything away, he said a promo “would make a lot of sense.”

Punk has been away from AEW TV since last September’s All Out due to recovery from both a torn triceps suffered that night and the fallout from his post-event fight with the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.
