Cody-Brodie Lee, Women’s Tag Cup finals set for next AEW Dynamite

AEW’s first-ever Saturday edition of Dynamite will feature a TNT title match, the finals of the Women’s Tag Team Cup, and four other matches announced Wednesday night.

TNT is moving their Wednesday staple next week to Saturday, August 22nd at 6 PM Eastern due to the NBA playoffs, part of three shows that are being moved

In the night’s main event, TNT Champion Cody Rhodes will defend against Mr. Brodie Lee of the Dark Order. Lee challenged Rhodes after the champion successfully defended his title against Scorpio Sky Wednesday.

The finals of the month-long Women’s Tag Team Cup will also take place with four teams (Big Swole and Lil’ Swole vs. Nightmare Sisters, Ivelisse and Diamante vs. Tay Conti and Anna Jay) set to do battle this Monday in the semifinals for the right to move on.

In other announced action:

  • The Elite (Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) will unite to face three members of the Dark Order in Alex Reynolds, Alan Angels, and John Silver
  • FTR will face Private Party in tag team action
  • In an eight man tag, Lucha Bros and The Butcher & The Blade will face Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy) and The Natural Nightmares
  • Darby Allin will be in singles action against an opponent to be named, his first match since his loss to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley last Wednesday
