Darby Allin is taking some time off from AEW in order to prepare for his attempt to climb Mount Everest.

Fightful first reported the news Saturday, saying the popular star isn’t expected back for “several months” as he prepares for a climb he originally was supposed to attempt last spring. However, he broke his foot in March against Jay White in the last match before his planned absence and had to postpone his excursion.

In a prior interview, Allin said he was planning to attempt the climb once again in April.

The 32-year-old was last seen on the final AEW Rampage in December being thrown down a flight of metal stairs by the Death Riders. His last in-ring action was going to a time limit draw with Ricochet in the Continental Classic on the Christmas night edition of Dynamite.

Climbing Mount Everest is extremely difficult due to the conditions with the total trip taking an estimated ten weeks according to some experts.
