Champion vs. champion match added to AEW Collision

AEW has a second official match added to Saturday’s live Collision from Chicago and like the first, it’s also for a championship.

Announced Thursday during Ring of Honor’s weekly TV show, TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes will have his first title defense since winning the gold at All In as he faces reigning Ring of Honor TV Champion Lee Moriarty whose title will not be on the line.

Rhodes won a four-way at All In for the vacant title, downing Kyle Fletcher, Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia. The title was vacated due to Adam Cole’s concussion suffered earlier that week.

Rhodes and Moriarty have never had a singles match, but were on opposite ends of an eight-man tag team match on the All In pre-show.

The 56-year-old is also one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions with Sammy Guevara and one-third of the ROH Six-Man Champions with Marshall & Ross Von Erich.

The next match or matches for the AEW Tag Team title eliminator tournament are also expected for the show, but have yet to be announced.

Current AEW Collision lineup | Saturday, July 26 | Chicago, Illinois

  • TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes defends against Lee Moriarty
  • ROH Women’s World Champion Athena defends against Alex Windsor
  • AEW Tag Team title eliminator tournament: TBA
