Jake Atlas suffers knee injury in AEW Rampage debut, MRI scheduled

New AEW roster member Jake Atlas suffered a knee injury during a match with Adam Cole that was being taped for this Friday’s edition of Rampage.

While there is no update as of now, our Bryan Alvarez said he is scheduled for an MRI and that it’s possible he is ok.

From reports, the injury occurred on an Atlas springboard into a Cole superkick. Atlas clutched his knee and was later unable to take the Panama Sunrise, eventually succumbing to a kneebar instead.

Atlas was officially signed to AEW this week after his debut appearance on Monday’s Dark: Elevation. The former WWE NXT talent had stepped away from pro wrestling for the last few months following a Ring of Honor match to focus on his mental health.

On Wednesday’s Dynamite in Newark, New Jersey, Cole challenged Atlas, saying he would “send him back to Orlando.”

Atlas was not the only AEW wrestler to be injured Wednesday as Rey Fenix broke his arm during the Lucha Brothers’ AEW Tag Team title loss to Jurassic Express.
