Don Callis Family member returns from injury on AEW Dynamite

Jake Doyle | Jake Something

After his start in AEW got abruptly halted four months ago, Jake Doyle returned to the promotion in a surprise appearance on Wednesday’s combo Dynamite/Collision.

Doyle joined the Don Callis Family once again, interfering in the four-way between Orange Cassidy, Rush, Lio Rush and fellow member Brian Cage that Rush eventually won. Rocky Romero and Lance Archer were targeting Cassidy when Doyle ran in from behind.

He and Roderick Strong fought to the back, possibly setting up a match for this Saturday’s Collision. As of this writing, no matches have been announced for Saturday’s show.

Doyle, the former Jake Something, suffered a torn biceps in late-January as he and Mark Davis were challenging then-AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR on Dynamite in Doyle’s second bout after signing in January.

Doyle held onto the top rope while landing on the apron with the added pressure seemingly tearing his biceps which he immediately called out. He reportedly had surgery in February.
