Former AEW Trios Champion and former IWGP World Champion Jay White is still not medically cleared to return to the ring, according to a new report.
Fightful Select reported the news Wednesday, adding that he hasn’t been factored into any creative plans and “isn’t expected to be back imminently.”
During an August interview, AEW head Tony Khan said that White “is going to be out for a long time” without giving any further details.
White has been out of action since late-March 2025 after suffering a broken hand and also underwent shoulder surgery during his absence. The 33-year-old made a surprise appearance during last weekend’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 as part of Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement ceremony.
Both White and Colten Gunn are on the injured list for Bullet Club Gold, leaving Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn to team up in their absence.
White signed with AEW and made his debut as a contracted wrestler in April 2023. He missed three months in the summer of 2024 with a foot injury, returning in October.
