Konosuke Takeshita vs. Katsuyori Shibata added to AEW Collision

A new match has been added to this Saturday’s Homecoming edition of AEW Collision featuring International Champion Konosuke Takeshita.

Takeshita and Don Callis offered a challenge to former Ring of Honor Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata, delivered via a backstage promo following Shibata’s win over Shane Taylor on ROH TV. The match was later made official on social media.

It will be their first-ever match against each other and will be for Takeshita’s International title.

It will be Takeshita’s first AEW match since December’s Worlds End when he defended the title against Powerhouse Hobbs. Shibata was last on AEW earlier this month when he unsuccessfully challenged TNT Champion Daniel Garcia.

Here’s the current lineup for Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida:

  • Mariah May & Toni Storm meet face-to-face
  • Big Bill vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker vs. Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)
  • Buddy Matthews & Brody King vs. The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)
  • AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita defends against Katsuyori Shibata
