Mark Briscoe AEW injury update | Exclusive

Mark Briscoe AEW

Further details on the situation are not known yet, but AEW star Mark Briscoe is dealing with a legitimate injury.

Briscoe got an AEW World Championship shot on Dynamite this Wednesday but fell short against MJF. When Collision aired the following night, it was indicated that Briscoe was injured and could be out of action for a while. Our Bryan Alvarez confirmed the injury is legitimate but does not have any information yet on what the issue is or how long Briscoe will be sidelined.

“Not sure what the injury is, but Mark Briscoe injury is legit,” Alvarez writes. “All the best to him.”

A backstage promo aired on Thursday’s Collision episode with Briscoe’s Conglomeration stablemates Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong addressing the events of the past week. The group was victorious in the Death’s Door steel cage match at Forbidden Door but was dealt a blow on Wednesday with Briscoe’s injury.

“That steel cage match was crazy. We got the job done, and Mark did get his championship title shot at Dynamite, but it didn’t really work out,” Cassidy said.

“Because of his injuries, we don’t know when we’re going to see Mark again,” O’Reilly added.

The Conglomeration also said they don’t know when Tomohiro Ishii will be back, but Willow Nightingale should return soon.

MJF’s next title defense —

Following his win over Briscoe, MJF is already set for his next title defense. He’ll put the AEW World Championship on the line against Kenny Omega on the Beach Break edition of Dynamite next Wednesday (July 8). If Omega loses, he cannot challenge for the championship again.
