New matches announced for AEW Collision & Battle of the Belts XI

AEW head Tony Khan announced two new matches for Saturday’s three-hour block of AEW programming during an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con Thursday night.

Former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy will take on Johnny TV on Saturday’s Collision after TV looks to take home the ROH TV title on Friday’s ROH Death Before Dishonor card. This will be their second-ever singles clash and their first since an August 2023 edition of Rampage.

The 11th Battle of the Belts show that follows Collision seems to be rounded out after Khan’s announcement that CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale will face Deonna Purrazzo. It’s unclear if it will be a title defense or title eliminator.

Nightingale was attacked by Kris Statlander on last Wednesday’s Dynamite, demanding her own title eliminator match this Wednesday. Purrazzo is coming off a win over rival Thunder Rosa in a lumberjack match on last Saturday’s Collision.

Here’s the updated cards for both shows:

AEW Collision:

  • Orange Cassidy vs. Johnny TV
  • FTR in action

Battle of the Belts XI (10 PM Eastern):

  • Vacant ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Undisputed Kingdom (three of Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong or Wardlow) vs. Dustin Rhodes & The Von Erichs/Dark Order winner from Death Before Dishonor
  • AEW Women’s World title eliminator: Toni Storm vs. Taya Valkyrie
  • CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale vs. Deonna Purrazzo
