After United Empire failed in their quest to earn a spot in the AEW Trios title tournament finals, faction leader and IWGP U.S. Champion Will Ospreay bid AEW adieu...for now.
Ospreay tweeted Thursday that for "the foreseeable future, my time with AEW is done," thanking Tony Khan for not listening to Kenny Omega and blocking his opportunity to compete.
He also threw a barb Omega's way, saying they were even for now but to keep his mouth shut so they wouldn't have any more issues.
Omega and the Young Bucks defeated Ospreay and Aussie Open on Wednesday's Dynamite to punch their ticket to the finals at Sunday's AEW All Out.
Ospreay made his AEW debut in June alongside United Empire as part of the build to that month's Forbidden Door. He wrestled six total matches, four of them trios affairs. The other two were wins over Dax Harwood and Orange Cassidy, the latter of which was at Forbidden Door.
He and Omega have been feuding on social media for some time with last night's match being the first time they have shared a ring since 2018. They have had just one singles match: a 2015 bout in PWG.
