Pure title defense announced for Ring of Honor TV

Ring of Honor Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata will put his title on this line this Thursday against Trent Beretta as part of ROH TV on HonorClub.

Shibata will be looking for the seventh defense of the title he won at March’s Supercard of Honor while Beretta is looking for his first ROH title of any kind. This will be their first-ever match against each other.

Shibata rolls into Thursday with a 7-1 mark this year while Beretta is just 2-6. He is coming off a loss to TNT Champion Christian Cage on last Friday’s AEW Rampage while this is Shibata’s first match since a loss to Eddie Kingston at October’s AEW WrestleDream.

Also announced for Thursday’s show was a rematch between Tony Nese and Ethan Page. Nese recently pinned Page with his feet on the ropes to set up the rematch.
