Report: Current AEW champion being discussed for future world title match
There are reportedly big plans in place for AEW TNT Champion Kevin Knight.
A couple of months ago, AEW TNT Champion Kevin Knight turned heel and joined the Don Callis family. A part of the faction since June 2026, Knight has also maintained his status as the TNT Champion. Despite his run as the TNT Champion, Knight has been heavily featured on AEW television, asking for a World title shot.
Now, according to a Fightful Select report, there are currently plans in place for a future World title shot for Knight. As per Fightful Select’s sources in AEW, Knight has been discussed for an upcoming World Championship match. It was also noted that the upcoming AEW Redemption PPV is not off the table for Knight to have a World title match. It was further added that Kevin has been planned to have feuds against other World title-level talents.
Kenny Omega recently defeated MJF to become the brand new AEW World Champion on the June 8, 2026 episode of Dynamite.
