Scorpio Sky addresses AEW contract report

Scorpio Sky AEW

With his AEW contract coming up soon, Scorpio Sky is trying not to think about the situation too much.

Our Dave Meltzer reported a couple of weeks ago that Sky has his AEW contract coming due “in a few months.” Sky seemed to confirm that during an appearance on Tagging In with former TNA wrestler Chris Harris. When asked how he’s handling his contract situation, Sky admitted to thinking about what’s next but said he’s trying to avoid that and just wants to focus on what’s directly in front of him.

“You know, I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I thought about what I’m going to do and what the future looks like,” the 43-year-old Sky said. “But I really try not to put too much into that. Right now, I’m focused on finishing this chapter the right way. I have a lot of stories and matches and moments left to be a part of, and I’m excited to step into those moments. So we’ll let tomorrow handle tomorrow and I’m just going to focus on today.”

Scorpio Sky’s AEW run —

It’s been a bit of an odd journey for Sky in AEW. He joined the promotion when it was founded in 2019 and went on to win both singles and tag team gold. But there was later a two-year period where he was off TV and not being used. Sky thought his AEW run might have been over during that time, but he ended up returning in 2025 to form SkyFlight. The faction includes Sky, Darius Martin, Dante Martin, Zayda Steel, Leila Grey, their manager Christopher Daniels, and new addition Matt Sydal.

SkyFlight has been featured on both ROH and Collision, and Sky is excited about Sydal’s addition to the group.

In response to a question about AEW opponents he’d like to work against, Sky named Christian Cage and Jon Moxley. Sky and Moxley have both been with AEW since the early days of the company but have never faced each other.

Sky is a two-time TNT Champion for AEW and also held the AEW Tag Team titles with Frankie Kazarian. His most recent title reign was his second TNT Championship run in 2022.
