According to Fightful Select, former Stardom wrestler Thekla has signed a contract with AEW.

The outlet reported the news Wednesday after a graphic of a red and black spider appeared on-screen several times during an AEW Women’s title eliminator match, a nod to her “Toxic Spider” nickname.

The 32-year-old ended her multi-year run with Stardom in late-April amid reports that she was heading to the United States and signing with AEW. Fightful reported that “the deal was in the works for quite a while.”

It’s unknown when the native Austrian will make her debut. She shared a post a week ago saying she was “off to new lands.”

The move comes as former Stardom wrestler and former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May has been rumored to be signing with WWE when her contract comes up later this year. It also comes on the heels of former Stardom wrestler Mina Shirakawa signing with AEW after several appearances throughout 2024.

She appeared on Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Live, available for subscribers.
