Original story:
Thunder Rosa should be returning to AEW soon as she has been cleared after suffering a concussion.
Dave Meltzer reported the news in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Rosa revealed she sustained the injury during a Busted Open Radio appearance two weeks ago and said she would need a few weeks to recover. While not confirmed, it’s assumed she sustained it during her August 31st four-way match against Serena Deeb, Queen Aminata and Hikaru Shida.
It’s been a frustrating last two years for the 38-year-old Rosa who was out of action for 16 months due to a back injury, making her return in the last week of December 2023. Since that injury, she has been a regular again, last feuding with Deonna Purrazzo on Collision and finishing their series with a victory in a bullrope match.
She threw out the first pitch at a San Diego Padres MLB game this week as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
