Toni Storm out of action for ‘a long time’ | Exclusive

Toni Storm | AEW

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will be out of action for “a long time” due to an undisclosed injury or injuries.

That news comes from our Bryan Alvarez who added that is the reason Mina Shirakawa filled in for Storm and then defeated Marina Shafir on last night’s AEW Dynamite.

Storm last wrestled at this past Sunday’s Revolution, defeating Shafir in a hard-hitting match that was followed by Ronda Rousey making a surprise appearance to confront Storm. Storm was then hit by Shafir as Storm and Rousey were being separated.

Prior to Dynamite, AEW released a clip of Storm being found bloodied up in her locker room with Shirakawa and Luther attending to her. She was set to face Shafir in a no holds barred match on last night’s show but was deemed unable to compete and Shirakawa took the spot instead.

The extent of the injuries and/or timeline for her return is unknown as is whether Shirakawa is being slotted into whatever creative was planned for Storm in the near future.
