Tony Khan gives Penelope Ford injury update

Penelope Ford | AEW

Penelope Ford’s return to the ring may be some time away, according to AEW head Tony Khan.

During a pre-AEW Collision video posted to X, Khan was explaining a new match made for the show (Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa vs. Megan Bayne & Lena Kross) when he gave an update on Ford who is also part of the group.

Khan said, “It looks like, unfortunately, (Ford) will be out with an injury maybe for weeks, but possibly even up to months.”

According to our Bryan Alvarez, Ford suffered an ankle sprain during she and Bayne’s match against AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron on the February 25 Dynamite. Ford sustained the injury after a moonsault where she landed on her feet. At the time, Alvarez said she was expected back “soon.”

The finish of the match had to be changed due to Ford’s injury which saw Kross interfere for a DQ. Kross made a surprise appearance on the Grand Slam Australia show to align with Bayne and Ford.
