Update on Anna Jay’s status with AEW
Tony Khan provided an update on Anna Jay’s status with AEW during Thursday’s AEW Redemption media call.
Khan revealed that the 28-year-old recently extended her contract with AEW. However, the AEW president also said that Anna is currently out with an undisclosed injury and underwent an MRI last week.
The 28-year-old has not wrestled since TayJay lost an AEW Women’s World Tag Team title match to Divine Dominion on the June 6, 2026, edition of AEW Collision from Youngstown, Ohio.
Tay Melo also has not wrestled since that match. Khan stated during Thursday’s media call that Tay recently requested her release from AEW and wants to step away from wrestling. Khan said that he plans to grant the request.
AEW first announced the signing of Anna Jay in December 2020, one week after she made her promotional debut in a loss to Hikaru Shida on an episode of Dynamite.
She was a student of QT Marshall’s at the Nightmare Factory wrestling school in Georgia.
