VIDEO: CM Punk-MJF promo battle from AEW Dynamite

In a bit of a different format than AEW usually does for Dynamite, CM Punk and MJF opened the show with a promo battle that touched upon Punk’s time in WWE, references to John Cena, The Miz and Triple H, and Punk not referencing MJF when doing AEW media.

In his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, at the sold-out Wintrust Arena, Punk opened Wednesday’s Dynamite preparing for his match with QT Marshall, but MJF came out instead. On the post-Full Gear episode of the show, MJF was cutting a promo when Punk came out and didn’t say a word, something brought up on Wednesday’s promo.

Following the promo, Punk defeated Marshall in a lengthy match to remain undefeated at 7-0. It’s unclear when Punk and MJF will compete in the ring, but with Revolution likely not until February or March, it may be destined for next month’s Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite or January’s debut on TBS.
