Josh Alexander World title match, Ultimate X announced for Impact Slammiversary

Impact World Champion Josh Alexander will defend his title at next month’s Slammiversary, but he doesn’t know against who yet.

The challenger will be determined on Thursday’s Impact on AXS in a Gauntlet for the Gold match.

Alexander is coming off his second successful title defense at last Saturday’s Under Siege as he got the win over NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii. Alexander also picked up a victory over former champion Moose less than a week after he defeated him for the title at April’s Rebellion.

Also announced for Slammiversary: X-Division Champion Ace Austin will defend his title in an Ultimate X match.

The last such match took place at last month’s Multiverse of Matches when then-champion Trey Miguel defended the title against Blake Christian, Chris Bey, Jordynne Grace, Rich Swann and Vincent.

Austin defeated Miguel in a three-way at Rebellion to regain the title.

Thursday will see the first qualifying match as Chris Bey takes on Kenny King.

Here’s the current June 19th lineup on PPV from Nashville, Tennessee:

  • Impact World Champion Josh Alexander defends against TBA
  • Ultimate X match for the X-Division title
