Mickie James reportedly cleared to return to action, remains a free agent

After several months away due to recovery from multiple injuries, former Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James was reportedly cleared to return to in-ring action several weeks ago.

Fightful reported the news on Friday following James’ husband Nick Aldis saying a few weeks ago that she was “100%.”

The outlet also reported that the 43-year-old James is a free agent, but that has always been the case since she returned to Impact.

Citing a source, Fightful stated, “They’ve always seen her as a woman of her word and there’s never been any real concern of her going back on commitments.”

James had to relinquish her title prior to April’s Rebellion pay-per-view due to three broken rib caps, a slight shoulder tear and what she thought might be a torn pectoral muscle. Deonna Purrazzo then defeated Jordynne Grace at the PPV to win the vacant Knockouts championship.

Before the injuries, James was expected to remain with Impact through the summer. If her time away changes those plans remains to be seen.

James hasn’t wrestled since a February Impact TV taping.
