Motor City Machine Guns regain Impact Tag Team titles

The Motor City Machine Guns are now three-time Impact Tag Team Champions after defeating Heath & Rhino on Thursday’s edition of Impact on AXS.

The end came when Chris Sabin survived a Rhino gore and later jumped over a second attempt, getting the pin off a sunset flip to give them the win.

The Major Players were banned from ringside after interfering in last week’s title match between the same two teams.

With the win, Sabin and Alex Shelley join FTR as multi-promotional tag team champions as they also hold the NJPW Strong Tag Team titles. The victory gives them their third Impact Tag Team title reign and their first since the summer of 2020.

Conversely, Heath & Rhino had a short first reign after winning the gold in November by defeating The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett).

The champions now await their first title defense which is assumed to be set for January’s Hard to Kill. It appears it could be against the Major Players as they attacked Shelley & Sabin backstage:
