Women’s Ultimate X, Knockouts title rematch set for Impact Hard to Kill

Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James will defend against former champion Deonna Purrazzo in a rematch at January’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view.

James defeated Mercedes Martinez at Saturday’s Turning Point in Las Vegas and after the match, Purrazzo ran out and attacked James, laying her out with a piledriver. Afterward, she said she would regain her title at the January 8th PPV in Dallas, Texas.

James ended Purrazzo’s second reign with the title back at October’s Bound for Glory with Saturday being the former champion’s first in-ring appearance since losing the title.

Hard to Kill will also feature the company’s first-ever women’s Ultimate X match. The match was created in 2003 and has taken place 44 times. The amount of participants, nor any specific names, accompanied the announcement.

Both matches are the first announced for the show.

The current lineup:

  • Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James vs. Deonna Purrazzo title match
  • Knockouts Ultimate X match: Participants TBA
