Kurt Angle reacts to Kendal Grey’s win and tribute at NXT Great American Bash
Kurt Angle gave his stamp of approval on Kendal Grey’s NXT Women’s Championship win at the Great American Bash.
Angle applauded her in-ring capabilities and acknowledged her tribute to him by donning wrestling gear inspired by his signature look for the career-defining bout.
“Witnessing the rise of the next generation is nothing short of incredible! I couldn’t be prouder to see Kendal Grey rocking my gear and claiming her throne as the new NXT Woman’s Champion! @kendalgreywwe relentless dedication embodies everything we represent in this industry,” posted Angle.
In a self-reply to his tweet, Angle teased that after eight years his daughter is likely to follow in his footsteps and prove to be a worthy rival for Grey in the ring.
“There’s only one Kendal Grey, and I can’t wait to see her conquer new heights. But…… just a heads up, in 8 years, you might want to watch your back, Kendal. There’s another Angle eager to step into that ring, and she’s got her eyes on you! @kendalgreywwe #itstrue”
Grey has often been compared to the WWE Hall of Famer for her amateur wrestling background and increasing popularity. At the NXT event on June 28, Grey captured the NXT Women’s Championship from Lola Vice in the main event.
