One of AAA’s top stars, Octagon Jr. recently had to be stretchered out at Noche de Los Grandes following a top rope botch.

Just hours after the mishap, our Bryan Alvarez reported that Octagon Jr.’s MRI came back good. “He will likely be out several months but could have been much worse,” wrote Alvarez.

The botch took place when Octagon Jr faced Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Lince Dorado, and Mini Vikingo in a fatal five-way match for Noche de Los Grandes Night Two taping on June 6, 2026.

Midway through the match, after Wilde performed a top rope DDT on Octagon Jr., fans saw the latter drop flat on his neck and seemingly injure it. The referee present in the ring immediately held up the “X” sign, following which the 35-year-old had to be stretchered out.

AAA Noche de Los Grandes Night One was filled with three title matches, where three new champions were crowned. The final match of the night saw El Grande Americano defeat and unmask the original El Grande Americano, which turned out to be Chad Gable.

Next week, apart from the fatal five-way match, La Catalina, Bayley, and Lola Vice will team together to face Las Toxicas (Flammer, La Hiedra, and Maravilla).
