ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet to make CMLL debut

In the latest talent exchange between Tony Khan’s companies and his various partners, reigning Ring of Honor Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet will be making her CMLL debut in October.

Announced on Wednesday during the latest episode of CMLL Informa, it was announced Velvet will be part of this year’s women’s Grand Prix on Friday, October 25th in Arena Mexico. It will be her first time competing in the country.

She joins fellow AEW roster mate and former CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale, Samantha Black, Viva Van, Tessa Blanchard, and Alex Windsor as the talent that has been announced.

The format is a 20-woman elimination bout between Team Mexico and Team World with the final woman standing winning the match. AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli won the men’s Grand Prix in August.

Since winning the title at July’s Death Before Dishonor, the 33-year-old has yet to defend the gold but does have two non-title wins since then.
