Rush says he & father have quit AAA

Rush took to Facebook Saturday to announce he and his father, Bestia del Ring, have quit Mexico’s AAA promotion for a second time and are now “totally independent.”

He and LA Park were scheduled to take on Sam Adonis and Psycho Clown at July’s Triplemania in Tijuana where the losing team would wrestle against each other in a mask vs. hair match at August’s Triplemania in Mexico City.

Mexican wrestling expert and writer Luchablog noted on Twitter that while the main event of AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Kenny Omega is big for those outside of Mexico, “that tag match (and the possibility of Park/Rush) was the big ticket seller.”

He also noted this doesn’t mean Rush would be allowed to wrestle at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2. Due to an arrangement NJPW has with CMLL, AAA talent are not allowed to appear on those kinds of shows.

As of last September, Rush is under a full-time deal with AEW.

Rush, a longtime fixture in CMLL, first appeared with AAA in December 2019 through March 2020. He returned in December 2022 and wrestled five matches with the last coming in April. Bestia wrestled for AAA during the same timeframe, taking part in ten multi-man matches.
