NXT star shares injury update after being removed from title match

WWE NXT

NXT star Layla Diggs shared an update on her absence from the weekly program.

Diggs posted a photo on X with her left arm in a sling and a caption that she is expected to be out of in-ring action. She did not specify the duration and nature of the injury.

“I’ll be back and I’ll be champion. Thank you guys for all the love #wwenxt,” posted Diggs.

She was slated to face Zaria for the NXT Women’s North American Championship on the July 14 edition of the weekly program. General Manager Robert Stone confirmed she was not medically cleared to compete. Instead a No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match took place among Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstong with Vice walking away with the victory

Earlier this month, Diggs defeated Thea Hail, Izzi Dame, and Lizzy Rain in a fatal four-way to earn the opportunity to face Zaria for the title. However, the injury forced her to be sidelined. She joined the brand in May this year marking her first NXT match against Jaida Parker.
