Jordan Devlin gets new WWE name, coming soon to NXT 2.0

Devlin left NXT UK last month following a loser leaves town match.

Jordan Devlin has received a new WWE name, and will soon debut on NXT 2.0.

IT was announced during this week's NXT episode that Devlin will now be known as JD McDonagh, as the new character name was debuted during a video vignette.

McDonagh was portrayed as a wealthy person with a penthouse in Dublin, Ireland, who only leaves his home if it is worth his while. He was then shown driving a vintage automobile.

McDonagh was the loser in an NXT UK Championship match on the May 12 NXT UK show, which also had a loser leaves town stipulation.

McDonagh joins Pretty Deadly, Alba Fyre, and Nathan Frazer as talent that has been moved from the NXT UK brand to the NXT 2.0 brand.

As Devlin, McDonagh debuted in WWE in the NXT UK Championship Tournament in 2017. He had a stint in an earlier incarnation of NXT, holding the Cruiserweight Championship in 2020 and 2021. A pandemic-related travel ban kept Devlin out of the country and unable to defend the title on the main NXT brand for most of his run.
