Nikki Blackheart confirms new WWE NXT name

Nikki Blackheart will officially be going by “Reina Volcan” in WWE NXT.

One week after debuting on the brand, Blackheart made a social media post today confirming her name. Blackheart was not identified by name last week when she arrived in NXT by attacking Tatum Paxley. Instead, commentator Vic Joseph just referred to her as “one of the most talked about women in the industry” and said NXT was getting stronger and badder with her addition.

WWE filed a trademark for the Reina Volcan name on June 8, though our Bryan Alvarez reported after Blackheart’s debut that there were apparently some things waiting to be finalized on the trademark end, which is why she wasn’t identified last week.

Blackheart tweeted today:

  • Nikki Blackheart, thank you for one hell of a ride. When I first chose the name, I remember asking my coach Gangrel what he thought. He had been part of The Blackhearts in Japan, so his opinion meant a lot. He didn’t hesitate. He told me, ‘Do it.’ Then said, ‘Just make sure you represent it well.’
  • From that day on, I did my best to live up to those words… Thank you to everyone who helped put Nikki Blackheart on the map, and for all the love and support you’ve shown me throughout this journey. I’ll never take it for granted. On to new beginnings. P.S. It’s not ‘Queen Volcano’ or ‘Queen of Volcanoes.’ It’s Reina Volcán… not everything needs to be translated.

Leading into her being signed, Blackheart became highly regarded by WWE through her tryout and participating in a women’s wrestling camp that Bayley put together. Blackheart is originally from the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when she was 12. She’s been wrestling since 2024, when she started on the Florida indies.
