North American title match set for WWE NXT Great American Bash

New number one contender set

A new North American title match is set for the Great American Bash.

Tavion Heights defeated Jackson Drake on Tuesday to become the new number one contender for the title. The finish had the rest of Vanity Project heading into the ring to interfere, only for champion Myles Borne to make the save for his friend, who then picked up the win with a belly-to-belly suplex.

After the match, Borne raised Heights’ hand, but Heights made it clear that he didn’t need Borne’s help, creating further dissension between the two.

Height’s recent change in attitude

The two have had a long history with one another, dating back to when they were both members of the No Quarter Catch Crew. After some time away from television, Heights returned with a more heelish persona, constantly arguing with Borne who is questioning some of Height’s recent actions, which include jumping Tony D’Angelo.

This week’s match was set up as Borne was seen arguing with Heights last week. Drake and the rest of the Vanity Project arrived and after some more back and forth, the number one contender’s match was made.
