NXT notes: Entrance times cut down, Salina de la Renta update

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the reason NXT entrances have been shorter lately is thanks to a suggestion from trainer and WWE Hall-of-Famer Shawn Michaels.

During the time they were head-to-head against NXT, Michaels suggested to Paul Levesque that longer ring entrances could be causing viewers to flip to AEW. Even though they are no longer head-to-head with Dynamite, they are still going with shorter entrances so they have more TV time for in-ring action and other storylines.

Meltzer added that a story going around NXT is that it was actually Michaels’ wife, Rebecca, who made the suggestion to her husband about the entrance length.

As first reported by Fightful and discussed in this week’s newsletter, former MLW manager and on-screen personality Salina de la Renta (Natalie Class) was seen at the Performance Center last week and appears to be WWE-bound. Meltzer said WWE had interest in her while she was in MLW.

Her MLW run concluded on the Fusion season finale in May when Cesar Duran (the former Dario Cueto in Lucha Underground) sacrificed her as part of his on-screen debut with the company.
