Jake Atlas domestic violence case gets dropped

The domestic violence case against former WWE NXT and AEW wrestler Jake Atlas has been dropped.

TMZ first reported Tuesday that Orange County (Florida) officials canceled a Tuesday hearing following an investigation in which “it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution.”

The aforementioned documents were filed last week and the matter is closed.

The 27-year-old Atlas (Kenny Marquez) was arrested on May 23rd on domestic violence charges after attacking his boyfriend in an incident that began at an Orlando, Florida, bar and continued at a friend’s house. He was released by police that day with Tuesday set to be his arraignment.

Atlas is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered in an early-January AEW Rampage match against Adam Cole. It was reported earlier this month that he is not expected back in AEW where he had just signed before getting hurt. He was not under contract with them and was working on a per-appearance schedule.
