NWA announces August all-women’s PPV produced by Mickie James

The NWA is heading to St. Louis, Missouri, for two pay-per-views this August, one of which will be an all-women’s affair produced by Mickie James.

NWA owner Billy Corgan announced the news alongside James at the beginning of Tuesday’s Power. James said that while she could have wrestled any of the top talents out there, the all-women’s show was something has she wanted for years, only to be “cut off at every opportunity.”

James was released by WWE earlier this year. She didn’t say whether she would be wrestling on the show.

The news was part of several announcements an emotional Corgan made about the NWA and St. Louis this August:

  • The all-women’s PPV will be on Saturday, August 28th. A name for the show wasn’t announced.
  • The second PPV of the weekend will be on Sunday, August 29th from the Chase Ballroom, called NWA 73 — an anniversary show and tribute to the original home of the NWA and legendary promoter Sam Muchnick.
  • TV tapings will be held on Monday, August 30th and Tuesday, August 31st.

Corgan didn’t mention whether fans will be in attendance, but it’s assumed they will be.
