Deonna Purrazzo shares encouraging update after ROH injury

ROH Women's Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo

One week after suffering an injury at a Ring of Honor television taping, Deonna Purrazzo shared an encouraging update with fans on social media.

The ROH Women’s Pure Champion was injured while facing Steph De Lander in Jacksonville on June 22. After taking a suplex on the floor, Purrazzo needed to be helped to the back and the match ended in a no contest. Purrazzo was then seen on crutches and had her foot in a walking boot last week. But she posted a new picture today in the gym with no crutches or boot. Purrazzo did still have her right foot bandaged up.

“Day [one],” Purrazzo captioned the recovery photo.

There’s been no word on Purrazzo’s exact injury or how long she is expected to be sidelined.

When ROH introduced a women’s version of its Pure Championship in 2025, Purrazzo won the tournament to crown its inaugural title holder. She remains champion and is still the only wrestler to hold the belt.

Purrazzo is coming off a successful defense of the Pure title against CMLL wrestler Olympia at ROH Global Wars: Cincinnati. With the way Purrazzo’s match against De Lander ended, it seems unlikely that it will ever air.
