Lucha Brothers win ROH Tag Team titles, Dante Martin injured at Supercard of Honor

The Lucha Brothers are new Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions after winning the five-way Reach for the Sky ladder match for the vacant titles at Friday’s Supercard of Honor.

Rey Fenix finished off the wild affair by first kicking The Kingdom’s Mike Bennett off the ladder, followed by kicking Matt Taven onto a ladder bridge, grabbing the new title belts for the victory.

It’s the first ROH gold for the former AEW and AAA Tag Team Champions.

After the match, former ROH Tag Team Champions FTR and Mark Briscoe came out to embrace the new champions. The Briscoes were the last titleholders until the shocking death of Jay Briscoe earlier this year in a car accident.

Top Flight’s Dante Martin was stretchered out after the match as he appeared to suffer a severe foot/ankle injury following a Canadian destroyer spot off a ladder bridge through stacked tables near the end of the bout. The initial camera angle showed his foot was nearly turned around backward.

Here’s a different angle:

As expected, the match was full of wild spots as action spilled all over the arena. Both Bennett and Taven were bleeding from taking piledrivers on the stage from Aussie Open.

All teams had their moments throughout the match including an Alabama Slam into a flip on the ladder by Aussie Open on Martin, a Taven splash on Dralistico on a ladder bridge on the outside of the ring that broke the ladder, and a scary Rush overhead throw on Aussie Open’s Mark Davis onto the ladder on the outside of the ring.
