Semifinals set in Ring of Honor Women’s Pure title tournament

After being introduced in the spring, Ring of Honor is one step close to finally crowning their inaugural Women’s Pure Champion.

On Friday’s ROH on HonorClub in a match taped last week in Boston, Yuka Sakazaki defeated Serena Deeb in the remaining quarterfinal to advance to a semifinal clash with Billie Starkz who advanced back in September with a victory over Olympia.

Sakazaki got the pin while Deeb’s right foot was on the bottom rope but Deeb had exhausted her rope breaks so it counted.

The other semifinal will see Deonna Purrazzo against Queen Aminata with the finals set to take place at next Friday’s ROH Final Battle streaming special in Columbus, Ohio. Purrazzo advanced in November with a victory over Trish Adora while Aminata defeated Taya Valkyrie back in August.

It’s expected both semifinal bouts will be taped this Wednesday prior to AEW Dynamite in Fishers, Indiana, as they are set to air on Thursday’s HonorClub show.
