Matt Hardy reacts to Grayson Waller digs at TNA on WWE NXT broadcast
WWE performer Grayson Waller took some shots at TNA during this week’s episode of WWE NXT as part of this worked shoot promo. Waller claimed that being a World Champion in TNA is like being the “best basketball player at the YMCA.”
Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt Hardy (currently a TNA Tag Team Champion) would react to the shade thrown at his company:
“My initial thought…I’ve done a little digging into this and I’m not sure what the deal is. My initial thought was like, ‘oh, are they setting up to do something again, like work together [WWE and TNA]?’ Did they have him just throw that out because they’re going to do some TNA business, and I’m not sure if they [WWE] are or not.

Hardy would also say that TNA getting mentioned on NXT wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, noting how any publicity is good publicity (in so many words):
“But I think more than anything else, he was just trying to create buzz and get people to talk about it [the promo], much like we’re talking about it right here [on the podcast]. So it worked for him in that capacity. And actually, when it’s all said and done, any time TNA is mentioned on their show, it’s never a bad thing for us.”
