Tessa Blanchard addresses TNA exit and CMLL future

Tessa Blanchard

Former Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard is no longer with TNA Wrestling and has committed her “100%” to CMLL.

Just hours after our Dave Meltzer reported that Blanchard was granted her release from TNA Wrestling, she appeared on the latest edition of CMLL Informa. While the reports emerged on June 16 and were confirmed by TNA on June 17, Blanchard’s latest appearance on CMLL Informa revealed more details about her exit.

Despite being contracted with TNA, Blanchard had regularly been appearing on CMLL and wrestling more often on the Mexican promotion than on TNA. Speaking on CMLL Informa (translated by Fightful’s Luis Pulido), Blanchard revealed that she took her time to think over the decision after TNA questioned her position in wrestling.

The truth is, I have received a lot of messages from friends and news, and I haven’t replied to any of them yet. I want to sort things out and set the record straight today. Here, I have a life, and I feel very happy. The U.S. company (TNA) asked me, ‘Tessa, you need to decide whether you’re a CMLL wrestler or a TNA wrestler.’ I took my time to think it over with my dad, whom I trust very much. My life is here. I’m not just another foreigner—I’m the most Mexican Gringa,” Blanchard said.

I have many goals to achieve here, and I already reached the top of the mountain. I won everything over there, but here I have many dreams and goals to pursue. I needed to focus my career and my life here in Mexico, and from this moment on, I’m 100% with CMLL,” she further added. (H/T Fightful)

Apart from Blanchard, TNA also parted ways with Tommy Dreamer and Sami Callihan.
