TNA confirms former X-Division Champion for Slammiversary

TNA Slammiversary 2026

A couple of days after teasing him for the event, TNA Wrestling has officially confirmed that Amazing Red will return for Slammiversary 2026.

TNA announced today that Red, a three-time champion of the X-Division, will compete at the June 28 pay-per-view in Boston. It’s the first time Red has been back in TNA since 2011. He had been set to return for one TNA event in April 2020, but that show ended up being called off amid the COVID pandemic.

Red’s role for Slammiversary has not been announced, but there are multiple spots open in the Ultimate X match where Cedric Alexander is defending the X-Division Championship. It will be Alexander vs. Leon Slater vs. four more competitors to be announced. One of those yet-to-be-named competitors was recently confirmed at a TV taping that TNA held in Denver, Colorado.

After helping to innovate junior heavyweight wrestling during the early days of the X-Division, Red went on to found the indie promotion House of Glory, where he currently competes in addition to operating the HOG wrestling school.

Agganis Arena in Boston is hosting Slammiversary, with the pay-per-view main card having a 4 p.m. Eastern start time.
